The Ssangyong Motor Company becomes KG Mobility: After the Korean automotive company was taken over by the domestic KG Group in September 2022, the name change will now take place on March 22, 2023, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors. The name Ssangyong will be retained for the time being: “Ssangyong” is next to “KG Mobility” on official communication channels.
The KG group consists of 19 subsidiaries that are active in the chemical, steel, green energy, IT, media and education sectors. The new sub-brand KG Mobility is to become globally active. Under the motto “Go. Different. KG Mobility”, the company wants to launch four electric cars: the Torres EVX, which will be followed by a medium-sized pick-up (project name O100) and another SUV (F100). A compact SUV (KR10) is also planned. KG Mobility and other subsidiaries of the group are developing an EV platform for all of them.
