The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has confirmed that Sportage and Sorento owners with a genuine Kia tow hitch will have an unscheduled service visit. So far, three cases of fire in the towing device on Sorento crossovers are known, and a fire can start even when the ignition is off.
