A gunsmith was found with his hands tied on rue du Coquelet in Gilly (Charleroi, Hainaut) following being the victim of a kidnapping and a fire Thursday evening within his business in Châtelineau, according to information from Sudinfo. When contacted, the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office refused to make the slightest comment on the case.

A fire required the intervention of fire crews and local police on Thursday evening at Place Destrée in Châtelineau. An armory was hit by the flames. According to Sudinfo, this fire was intentional. The perpetrator(s) also allegedly stole several weapons from inside the business and kidnapped the manager. The latter was found by the authorities on rue du Coquelet in Gilly, with his hands tied. The chronology of the events is unknown, according to Sudinfo.

Contacted on Saturday morning, the Charleroi public prosecutor’s office refused any comment on this matter.
