Actress Kim Chae-yeon insisted, “I’ve never done a self-made play” about the past kidnapping play.
On the 20th, on MBN’s ‘Special World’, Kim Chae-yeon appeared and explained the kidnapping play that took place in 2001.
Kim Chae-yeon debuted as a CF model in 1999 and rose to stardom, appearing in several dramas and movies.
He claimed to have been kidnapped by a stalker’s car in 2001, but during a police investigation, he said that he voluntarily got into the car, causing controversy.
Regarding the situation at the time, Kim Chae-yeon said, “I got out of the manager’s car to go home after the radio live broadcast, but he got out of an unknown car and asked me if I could talk to him as a fan. It was my heart and I couldn’t be rude,” he said, getting into a man’s vehicle.
He continued, “The way he spoke was polite, but he behaved recklessly, so he locked the car door and drove recklessly, and that alone made me very scared.”
Kim Chae-yeon explained that she made a phone call to the last caller on her cell phone without the man’s knowledge, and after being kidnapped and moved for an hour, she was able to escape with the help of her boyfriend.
Later, as the kidnapping case was reported as Kim Chae-yeon’s self-made play, he gradually distanced himself from the entertainment industry.
Kim Chae-yeon shed tears and said, “I’ve never staged a self-play. I don’t even know if the situation is kidnapping, but if the word kidnapping is correct, then I was kidnapped. At a young age, I couldn’t properly deal with bad people. I came this far because of the wind, and I think I wasted too much time because I couldn’t fix it again.”
He revealed that the kidnapping case seemed to have been misrepresented as a self-made play because of the existence of a boyfriend, which was taboo for actresses at the time.
