Kim Hyeon-chul’s stuttering was confirmed to be ‘real’, not set up.
On the Channel A entertainment program ‘Oh Eun-young’s Golden Side Counseling Center’, which aired on the 31st, comedian and conductor performer Kim Hyeon-cheol appeared with his wife Choi Eun-kyung and received counseling from Dr. Oh Eun-young.
At the opening, MC Jung Hyeong-don asked Kim Hyun-cheol a question. He said, “There is something I need to point out first,” and drew attention by saying, “Does he usually stutter, is it a setting or a gag?”
Kim Hyun-chul started to explain. He felt unfair, saying, “There were rumors that he was acting like he was stuttering to be funny.” In addition, “It is not a setting. He explains that he wants to show something in a short time, so he just talks, but he stutters with excitement.”
Kim Hyun-cheol said, “I used to speak quickly. When I was young, her mother sent me an oratory academy to correct (her son’s way of speaking) in a difficult situation. She went to the academy and worked hard to fix her stutter,” he recalled. But after a while, it was back to normal.
He said, “I fixed it, but the stuttering friends keep coming back, so I stuttered again because I played with them. I had to stop going to the academy because my family was having a hard time. I quit when I was stuttering,” he said, causing laughter.
In response, Jeong Hyeong-don asked, “How is it when Dr. Oh sees it?” Dr. Oh Eun-young, who was watching Kim Hyun-chul closely, opened his mouth. He said firmly, “It’s not a setup, I have stuttering.”
In particular, Dr. Oh Eun-young analyzed in detail the cause of Kim Hyun-chul’s stuttering. He ordered the pronunciation of ‘wash’ and said, “I can’t seem to find the articulation point. Isn’t there a place where you stick your tongue when pronouncing, that doesn’t work properly?”
Also, the position of the tongue has a great influence on pronunciation. “The pronunciation of ‘ㄹ’ is inaccurate. Pronouncing ‘ㅅ’ is also difficult. ‘ㅅ’ is the last pronunciation that children learn.” Kim Hyun-cheol was surprised that Dr. Oh Eun-young’s analysis was correct.
Afterwards, Dr. Oh Eun-young said to Kim Hyeon-cheol, “The speed of speech is on the fast side. He speaks quickly, but he has a lot of things he wants to say and his personality is impatient.”
