After the airing of the final episode of the anime Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-henthe production of a new project that will be titled Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Training Arc (Pillars Training Arc). The announcement included a preview introducing all the Pillars still active within the Demon Hunter Corps, and specifies that it will be an anime for television.
However the “Hashira Training Arc” only covers the fifteenth and sixteenth volumes of the original manga, and tells a story where Tanjiro Kamado and his companions receive training from the Pillars, with the goal of becoming stronger. Two volumes is certainly not much content for an anime season, what is the production planning?
The third season aired during the season of Spring-2023 (April-June) in Japan and had a total of eleven episodes, while the platform Crunchyroll is in charge of its distribution in the West. Besides, Koyoharu Gotouge published the original manga through the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha between February 2016 and May 2020, compiling the work in a total of twenty-three volumes.
Sinopsis General de Kimetsu no Yaiba
Tanjirou Kamado lives with his impoverished family on a remote mountain. As his older brother, he took responsibility for supporting his family after his father’s death. On a cold winter’s day, he goes down to the local village to sell charcoal. At dusk, he is forced to spend the night at the home of a curious man who warns him of the existence of strange creatures that roam the night: malevolent demons that crave human flesh.
When he finally gets home, Tanjirou’s worst nightmare comes true. His entire family has been brutally massacred, with the sole exception of his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a carnivorous demon. Filled with hatred and despair, Tanjirou desperately tries to stop Nezuko from attacking other people, embarking on a journey to avenge his family and find a way to turn his beloved sister back into a human.
