Buckingham Palace unveiled the official crowned portraits of King Charles and Queen Camilla on Monday.
Charles III is depicted wearing the robe of succession, the Imperial Crown of State and holding the Sovereign’s Orb and Sovereign’s Scepter with Cross. He is seated on one of two throne chairs specially designed for use at the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902.
In a statement, the King expressed his and Camilla’s ‘heartfelt and warmest thanks’ to everyone who helped to make the coronation weekend ‘such a special occasion’.
King Charles III adds that he and his wife will henceforth dedicate their lives to “serving the people of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms”.
