On December 4, the king went to the United Arab Emirates for an official visit, with a large delegation of officials and ministers. Major agreements had been signed, covering high-speed lines (LGV) to road infrastructure and seawater desalination plants.

After his stay in the Emirates, the king then went to the Seychelles for a private stay before flying to Singapore.
