The Vice-Governor of the city of Kinshasa Gérard Mulumba ordered the demolition of a fair erected illegally on the royal square in Gombe. This is what we read in a press release from its communications unit, consulted by .

“An unidentified lady, using influence peddling, illegally obtained authorizations to organize a fair with drinking establishments.
Alerted, Gérard Mulumba immediately ordered the work to stop and the demolition of the stands already installed as well as that of a permanent construction on an area where there was greenery and a public lighting pole which was torn down« .
And to continue:
“The surrounding population praised the gesture of the Vice-Governor of the city aimed at protecting this historic site which is located in the heart of the district housing the institutions of the Republic. The number two of the city Kinshasa took the opportunity to warn any ordinary citizen or person occupying any state responsibility who would try to sell off the public spaces of the state« .
