Kira Weidle took 14th place (+1.30) one day after her major fall in training for the downhill on Saturday.
“It was a good trip given the circumstances,” said the 26-year-old. The neck is still a bit “stiff”, but “with the adrenaline it’s doing quite well, the body can handle it so far,” added Weidle. That’s why she’s heading into the descent with “very good self-confidence.” Another Super-G will take place in Zauchensee on Sunday.
Emma Aicher had to wait a long time to start after Nadine Fest from Austria fell. After very good split times she was even on course for the podium, but then she was eliminated in the technically demanding middle section. Katrin Hirtl-Stanggaßinger missed a place in the top 30 and thus World Cup points.
