Kirkan, starring Salim Kumar, Johnny Antony, Kani Kushmi, Vijayaraghavan, Anarkali Maraikar, Meera Vasudev, Maqbool Salman, Appani Sarath and others, is gearing up for release in the month of April. About twenty five new faces from the field of theater and others are also playing notable roles. The story is inspired by the true incident of the death of a girl in a village near Kottayam in 2005 and the investigation conducted by the local police.
The film is made in a way that involves the investigating officers and the audience in proving the crime. It is an investigative thriller film that culminates with suspense and unexpected twists. Going through many humorous moments, ‘Kirkan’ also exposes a social scourge in the society that remains unchanged despite the passage of time.

‘Kirkan’ is produced by Mathew Mambra’s Mambra Cinemas, which won the Film Critics Award for Best Producer. The film is co-produced by Ajit Nair, Bindia Ajeesh and Ramya Josh of Owl Media Entertainments.
Josh, who has worked with many directors including Major Ravi, has written the story, screenplay, dialogue and direction of Kirkan. Josh is a director who has already won the appreciation of the audience with his masterpieces Poothan and Thumpi. Cinematography by Gautham Lenin Rajendran Kirkan. Manikandan Ayyappa has composed the music and background score of this film.
