Klaipėda apartment buildings will be heated from Wednesday

“We have already received many observations that it is time to start heating apartment buildings. Of course, heat is not only comfort, but also additional costs for residents. However, this year we hope that it will not become a particularly big burden for the residents, it is predicted that when energy resources become cheaper, if the situation does not change, the heating costs for the residents may be about 40 percent lower. It is also important that residents feel the consequences of external processes as little as possible, we must look ahead and strive to make the price for Klaipėda residents as low as possible. It is already necessary to start considering how to activate the company “Geoterma”, thanks to which ecological heat would be supplied at a competitive price”, says Klaipėda Mayor Arvydas Vaitkus.

Residents who do not yet feel the need to heat their home can use the opportunity to postpone the start of the season. In order for the apartment building not to be heated yet, the approval of more than half of the residents of the building is required, the initiation of the process should be coordinated with the administrator of the apartment building or the chairman of the association.

Last year in Klaipėda, the heat was turned on in educational and social service institutions on October 18, and the heating season in the whole city started on October 26.
