Klaipėda district prosecutor’s office will be headed by prosecutor J. Michailovskis

As indicated by the prosecutor’s office, the chief prosecutor was appointed by the order signed by N. Grunskienė on Monday.

The head of the prosecutor’s office said that she chose a candidate who, in her opinion, “has more experience in these areas.”

“Prosecutor Yevgenijus Michailovskis, who started his career as an intern at the prosecutor’s office, has worked as an interrogator, prosecutor, chief prosecutor of the department and deputy chief prosecutor of the district, has authority not only among the prosecutor’s office, but also among his colleagues in the courts and law enforcement institutions,” N .Grunskiene.

She thanked Chief Prosecutor Dalia Pociene for her contribution in leading the Klaipėda District Prosecutor’s Office. D. Pocienė held this position since April 2019.

J. Michailovskis started his career in 1991 as an intern at the prosecutor’s office of Klaipėda city district. Until 1995, he worked as an interrogator in the Criminal Investigation Department of Klaipėda City, from 1995 until now – as a prosecutor in the Klaipėda District Prosecutor’s Office.

For the exemplary performance of his official duties, J. Michailovskis was awarded the 1st and 2nd degree medals of the Prosecutor’s Badge of Honor, twice awarded the 1st degree of the General Commissioner of the Lithuanian Police, the State Border Guard Service’s distinction marks.

J. Michailovskis will begin his five-year term as chief prosecutor on April 3.
