Klopp on Nunez’s expulsion: He has plenty of time to learn

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says striker Darwin Nunez will have plenty of time to learn after receiving a red card for headbutting Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen in the 1-1 Premier League game.

And the British news agency “BA Media” reported that the Uruguay international, who joined Liverpool in the summer for 85 million pounds, received a red card early in the second half after headbutting the Crystal Palace defender after many clashes between the two players throughout the match.

Klopp indicated that the striker was provoked but accepted that there were no excuses for his reaction and that a three-match ban would be met.

He pointed out that Nunez’s absence from the matches between Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle, will give the 23-year-old an opportunity to reflect.

“Of course I will talk to him, he reacted wrongly to the provocation and he will learn from this, unfortunately he has 3 games to do this, it is not good for us but that is the situation,” the coach said.

He added: “I intervened and wanted to see the situation in the match but I couldn’t see anything, but I can tell what happened, I saw Andersen on the ground and Darwin walking away.”

And he concluded: “Then I saw, yes, it’s a red card, a wrong reaction to the situation, Andersen wanted this and got what he wanted, but Nunez made a mistake.”
