German coach Jurgen Klopp expressed his astonishment at the generosity of his player, Mohamed Salah, after the latter awarded a penalty kick to Uruguayan newcomer Darwin Nunez to execute.
Nunez scored his first goal with his new team when he netted four times in the second half during a landslide 5-0 victory over Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Thursday.
Klopp told his club’s official channel: “I am not sure there is a clause in Salah’s new contract that makes him so generous.
He continued: He left the penalty kick for Nunez, as if he had opened a jewelry box for him. It was definitely a perfect night for Darwin.
The Uruguayan striker joined Liverpool last month for 75 million euros, a little less than what the club paid Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk in 2018, which amounted to 89.76 million dollars in a club record deal.
Liverpool will move to Austria for a one-week camp in preparation for the new season of the English Premier League.
