Klosterneuburg suffers a setback against Gmunden

The Dukes Klosterneuburg missed important points in the battle for the placement round of the top six in the Basketball Superliga (BSL) on Sunday. The Lower Austrians were defeated by Swans Gmunden, who had traveled without the sick Toni Blazan and Daniel Köppel, in an exciting duel 73:79 (38:38). Klosterneuburg now has to win the final round in Fürstenfeld on Saturday and at the same time hope for Graz to lose once morest Oberwart.

The Traiskirchen Lions are definitely out of the running for a place in the top six teams following beating the Flyers Wels 72:85 (31:50), who won for the sixth time in a row. The “lions” must seek their chance to reach the quarter-finals via the qualifying round. The SKN St. Pölten is “through” following the Sunday results of the competitors from Lower Austria. Leader BC Vienna was still clearly successful in the derby once morest bottom-placed Vienna Timberwolves following the break with 85:65 (35:42).
