KM Projects, Moroccan publisher of technological payment solutions, organized a conference-debate on May 18 in Casablanca under the theme “What challenges for the ISO20022 transformation?”.

This meeting was attended by experts representing banking institutions and Swift. Indeed, ISO 20022 has been the new messaging standard for payments worldwide since 2023. From November 2025, the current Swift standard (MT messages) will cease to exist.

For Fadoua Laroussi, expert and co-founder of KM Projects, “the new ISO 20022 standard is one of the major transformations of the last decade in the payment system. Moroccan banking institutions have deployed ambitious transformation strategies at all levels, particularly in terms of supply and the digitalization of processes allowing for an innovative value proposition and a better customer experience.

In a context rich in challenges and opportunities, this profound migration pushes us to capitalize on the agility of banks and technological players to address the needs of this transformation in an innovative and mature way”. During this meeting, all the participants highlighted the need to approach this transformation project with great ambition while giving themselves the means to comply with this new global standard.
