MELBOURNE ∙ Knox Knanaya Group, located in Wantreena, Australia’s cultural capital, Melbourne, organized a colorful Onam celebration. Simon Magalath started the celebrations by lighting the lamp during the Onam celebrations held at Besan Senior Citizen Hall. Mavelithampuran was brought to the stage in a procession accompanied by Shinkari Mela, Thalapoli and muthukudas.
Master Ryan Sijeesh’s message intrigued everyone. The audience was then treated to Thiruvathira Talayam performed by the women of Knox, and the onasadya dishes prepared by them turned out to be very tasty. The ona songs, children’s dances and exciting tug of war enthralled the audience. A colorful fig grove brightened up family photos.
