The speaker of the upper house of the parliament of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, spoke in favor of introducing in the country an account of the social usefulness of a citizen.
The system of accruing social points has been used for several years by the ruling Communist Party of China, headed by Comrade Xi, who has become the permanent secretary general.
“…everyone should understand that in order to live in peace in a clean, comfortable and prosperous country, to receive free treatment and education, subsidies for utility bills and public transport, and other social benefits, it is necessary to make a lot of efforts. All this is financed from the budget, and the budget is formed from the deductions that each worker pays,” Kochanova said in an interview with Sovetskaya Belorussia.
“It is necessary to move away from social dependency… We have repeatedly approached the consideration of the social usefulness of citizens. We are always afraid of offending someone. And on the other hand, isn’t it a shame for those who conscientiously and diligently work and at the expense of their taxes support those who are not employed in the economy?! We need to seriously discuss this topic with the people,” she suggested.
“Discussion with the people”, in her own words, should take the form of “large-scale sociological research”, discussions “on dialogue platforms and in the media”.
“Let people decide for themselves where the measure of social justice is,” Kochanova concluded.
