DEPUTY Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria asked for the X application to immediately open an office in Indonesia. Kominfo has sent a letter to X to fulfill the requirements.

“We have given a letter to X to fulfill all the requirements and conditions of the Indonesian state,” said Nezar, in Yogyakarta, Friday 11 October 2024.
Nezar emphasized that Kominfo had communicated with X’s social media. So, until now his party is still waiting for X’s continued action.
“Communication already exists, so we just have to follow up,” said Nezar, in Yogyakarta, Friday 11 October 2024.
Previously, Kominfo threatened to block X because it still provided access to negative content such as online gambling and pornography.
Apart from that, there are other factors that could threaten X’s operations in Indonesia. Namely, X itself has not yet opened an office in Indonesia, which is considered to make handling content difficult compared to other digital platforms. (M-4)
