After the overall and giant slalom World Cup, the Swiss Marco Odermatt also won the small crystal ball for the Super-G. His only rival, Vincent Kriechmayer, was unable to make up for the big deficit at the final in Saalbach.
The 32-year-old from Mühlviertel would have needed a win and a fall from Odermatt. to turn the ranking around. That didn’t work. The double world champion from Cortina 2021 missed the top 5 and ended up in sixth place, twelve hundredths behind fifth-placed Odermatt and in second place in the Super-G ranking, 86 points behind.
“A win with number 14 would have been difficult, but I think it’s two or three tenths. I congratulate the Odi on his tremendous season,” said Kriechmayr: “From my point of view, it’s a modest season.”

At the end there was the Swiss Festival. Stefan Rogentin triumphed ahead of his compatriots Loic Meillard and Arnaud Boisset. “The Swiss are doing a good job, you can only take your hat off,” congratulated Kriechmayr.
Raphael Haaser finished 13th, Stefan Babinsky was 17th. Lukas Feurstein merged shortly before the finish and fell badly. He may have injured his shoulder and arm area.
The ski winter ends with two runs. On Saturday it’s the women’s turn, on Sunday it’s the men’s turn.
