The midfielder was taken to hospital and has since been cared for on a ventilator – and on March 1 the Danish club announced that the situation is stable.
Since then, further updates have been added. On March 7 that the doctors at the hospital determined that it was a matter of blood clots in the brain.
Now comes another update from Midtjylland, which announces that Olsson is no longer being cared for on a ventilator.
Olsson can instead breathe on his own – and now he has been transferred from Århus University Hospital to Hammel Neurocenter, where his rehabilitation can continue.
However, Olsson has not yet regained either his motor skills or his verbal ability, and a long period of rehabilitation is expected.
“Unfortunately, Kristoffer has not yet recovered either his motor function or his verbal abilities. His condition is continuously evaluated and further examinations and treatment will be required. It is still too early to give a final forecast,” writes FC Midtjylland on its website.
Claus Steinlein, CEO of the Danish club, is grateful for the work that the staff at Århus University Hospital have put in.
