Krystian Zimerman as a raging keyboard star – music

Krystian Zimerman has moved. From the Musikverein, which served as his artistic living room in Vienna for the last four decades, the celebrated pianist moved a few hundred meters diagonally across Schwarzenbergplatz to the Konzerthaus, complete with tailcoat and Steinway. As a former winner of the Warsaw Chopin Competition – that was almost 50 years ago! – Zimerman naturally had some works by the chief melancholic of romanticism with him, as well as, as a native of Poland, an opulent opus by his compatriot Karol Szymanowski. A Debussy (Prints) also worked out.
