saudi Arabia Unveils Sustainable Pavilion for Expo 2025 in Osaka
OSAKA, Japan — The Kingdom of saudi Arabia has officially unveiled its pavilion for the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, designed by the acclaimed architectural firm Foster + partners. Situated on the Yumeshima waterfront, the pavilion promises visitors an immersive journey through Saudi Arabian culture, landscapes, and innovations, while adhering to the highest sustainability standards.
Inspired by the organic forms of customary Saudi Arabian villages and cityscapes, the pavilion’s design fosters exploration and discovery. Visitors are invited to wander through a network of meandering streets, offering glimpses into a series of immersive spaces that showcase the Kingdom’s rich heritage and promising future.

Every element has been carefully considered to create a one-of-a-kind experience that is highly sustainable and accessible to everyone.”
The pavilion’s design prioritizes sustainability, aiming for the highest level (CASBEE S) of the Japanese green building rating system. The project targets net-zero operational carbon emissions, incorporating various eco-friendly features. A landscaped forecourt acts as a natural barrier, protecting the pavilion from harsh northerly winds, while a central courtyard offers a tranquil space for reflection.
Inside, the pavilion features state-of-the-art exhibits and interactive displays designed to engage visitors with Saudi Arabia’s diverse culture, history, and ambitious plans for the future.The design also emphasizes accessibility, ensuring that all visitors can comfortably experience the pavilion’s offerings.
The Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, is scheduled to run from April 13 to October 13, 2025, with the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The Saudi Arabian pavilion is expected to be a major attraction, drawing visitors from around the world to experience the Kingdom’s unique blend of tradition and innovation.
