Thiruvananthapuram: Following the announcement that the government will not interfere in the salaries, KSRTC has taken a decisive step to pay the salaries of the employees. To this end, it is reported that the management is preparing to raise money by mortgaging their 30 depots. The management estimates that at least Rs 400 crore will be earned by mortgaging 30 depots.
KSRTC has 94 centers namely Depot, Sub Depot and Operating Center and five Regional Workshops and Head Office. At present 52 depots of KSRTC are mortgaged to the bank. KSRTC has taken Rs 3100 crore from these depots. The remaining 30 are now being prepared for mortgage.
