Wels (awp) – The motorcycle manufacturer KTM, which is part of the Pierer Mobility Group, is taking over the majority of MV Augusta earlier than planned. The call option granted to KTM AG on the basis of the annual financial statements as of December 31, 2025 to acquire the majority in MV Agusta Motor SpA will now be exercised at an early stage, Pierer announced on Friday evening.

The purchase price for the additional 25 percent of the shares was calculated in accordance with the previously agreed valuation method. However, the company does not mention a specific price.

KTM had already bought a good quarter of MV Agusta, which also produces motorcycles, in November 2022 as part of a capital increase. As part of this partnership, KTM then took over the supply chain and purchasing of MV Agusta in October 2023. In addition, the MV Agusta product range is also sold through Pierer Mobility’s global sales network.

In October 2023, an agreement to take over a majority stake was concluded. KTM originally wanted to exercise this call option in spring 2026.

With the acquisition of the majority there will also be a change at the top of MV Augusta. Hubert Trunkenpolz, who also sits on the board of Pierer Mobility AG, will now act as CEO and chairman of the board of directors of MV August. Pierer sees this as a commitment to the location. The previous boss of MV Augusta, Timur Sardarov, will continue to be available to the company as deputy chairman, brand ambassador and advisor, it is said.
