Kuo predicts new HomePod mini and AirPods Max only in 2024-25

the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo commented on his predictions about possible upcoming Apple releases in terms of acoustics — more precisely, related to the HomePod mini and to AirPods Maxas well as the (alleged) cheaper AirPods.

According to him, we can expect the aforementioned products only from the second half of 2024 — as previously predicted, with the exception of the HomePod mini.

I predict the next major update period of Apple acoustic products will be in 2H24-1H25. The following new products are likely to start mass production in 2H24 at the earliest.
1. HomePod mini 2.
2. AirPods Max 2.
3. Low cost version of AirPods.

If he’s correct, that means the AirPods Max update could be at least four years, possibly nearly five, since their launch in December 2020.

Similarly, the HomePod mini launched in October 2020, which has since seen price fluctuations and the introduction of new colors. It’s worth noting that last week, journalist Mark Gurman said that Apple won’t release a new HomePod mini “any time soon”.

Later, Kuo also evaluated the situation of the supplier Goertek, which lost orders for the second-generation AirPods Pro after quality issues. Even so, the company would already have guaranteed assembly orders for the possible new HomePod mini.
