Kurt Burneo is the new Minister of Economy, what is his trajectory?

President Pedro Castillo appointed Kurt Burneo Farfán as the new holder of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

Burneo joined the Ministerial Cabinet, after the ratification of Hannibal Torres in office, and will replace Óscar Graham, who has been in office since February 2022.

The economist becomes the third head of the MEF in the Castillo government, which has been in office for just over a year.

It is worth mentioning that previously Burneo indicated that he was offered up to two opportunities to join the Minister council.

“There were two attempts for me to join as Minister of State. Unfortunately, things had not changed much regarding the way the State was being managed, I decided to step aside and not accept the invitation,” Burneo told local media a few months ago.
