Kuwait City: Kuwait to expand high-speed optical fiber network. The project is being implemented as part of improving the quality of telephone and internet services.
The Ministry of Communications has announced that the country’s telecom network will be upgraded using fiber cables instead of copper to expand the terrestrial communications network. The objective of the project is to lay a strong foundation for optical fiber network across the country. With the completion of the cable works, it is hoped that the service providers in the country will be able to provide better services to the customers.
The new move will be very helpful in the country’s efforts to grow as an IT hub and knowledge economy in the Athodapam region. Local media Al-Rai reported that the second phase of the optical fiber project to connect 34 areas of Kuwait to provide high-speed internet and communication systems will soon be implemented. With the new system, optical fiber cable will reach even remote areas.
