La Konga went through Jesús María again and it was a party again, in which his friend Nahuel Pennisi was also present. But before going on stage, Martín Fierro, Pablo Tamagnini, Nelson Aguirre and Diego Granadé were at a press conference. Among the topics that were discussed, they talked about the opportunity they had to play for Lionel Messi at a private party that the Captain of the National Team had after winning the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
“There are two aspects to take into account there. First, the professional, which was to make the show the best possible. We were able to sing to him, we saw him dance a quartet with Antonela, we saw everyone who was there singing our songs, Di María, all of them as if it were a dance. That was magical,” Tamagnini replied.
“And then we had the chance to talk a bit with him, to have a photo, to thank him for the World Cup and for the humility he has. I even brought a signature from him and ended up tattooing it. They are things that we will never forget, that a person, World Champion, the best player in history, who invited us to such a personal party. Happy to be able to share a moment with the Champion ”, he completed.
La Konga, folklore and the quartet
Of course, having the possibility of being at the Festival again, they reflected on the folklore-quartet relationship: “The quartet is part of folklore, it is culture. We follow the post of a lot of people who have made a lot of effort for our music. It’s a genre that’s still growing but it’s over 70 years old and people are embracing it more and more. We are very happy to be part of the Festival and that they choose us to be on this stage and sing to the people”.
They also recalled their origins in the genre and shared who the most listeners are. Daniel recounted: “We danced folklore with Nelson when we were kids and we competed, that’s where we met. Pablo also sang folklore. Nowadays at Festivals, like here, when we have the opportunity to listen to folklore live, we enjoy it a lot. About tastes: Nahuel Pennisi is spectacular, we really like our friends from Orellana Lucca, Peteco Carabajal and Coplanacu, the truth is that we have great artists”.
When mentioning Pennisi, they were asked about the still current success of Parallel universe: “Nahuel is a person we love very much, he is part of the family and he is always invited to sing, maybe now he stays because Nahuel loves to sing. The truth is that the most beautiful thing that this theme left us was that friendship. It was born at a difficult time for the whole world, the pandemic, and we always want to make songs that fill our souls, Nahuel immediately said yes and people made it an incredible success. He is about two years old and we sing it as if it were the first day. But the most important thing is that we have a great friend who is a great singer and an excellent person”.
The Konga, 20 years
The band shared some thoughts about their journey and their great present, which includes shows in Velez and a tour of Spain, among other things: “Today we are positioned in a good place because we work a lot. In the pandemic we worked twice as much”.
“We are a very close group. We have fun but we are responsible, we try to comply and respect people. What made us go so far is being so united, it is the most important thing for us”, they considered.
“We want to take our music, the quartet, as far as possible”, they expressed. Also, they advanced, without wanting to give more details: “The 20 years of La Konga are coming, a spectacular celebration is coming.”
