It’s the end of an era. La Poste will stop selling its famous red stamp, at 1.43 euros, from January 1, 2023, the group announced. in a press release published Thursday, July 21, 2022. La Poste justifies its choice by the evolution of “uses” et “a very heavy energy balance” for these priority letters, delivered within one working day. Users will still be able to buy a green stamp, for the price of 1.16 euros. Their mail will then be delivered in 3 days.

For urgent shipments, it will be possible to send “a red e-letter” from LaPoste.fr delivered in one day and marketed at 1.49 euros. “For customers who are far from digital, La Poste will offer the possibility of sending a red e-letter from a post office, on a machine or with the help of an adviser”explains the press release.

The group also announces the introduction of a new offer, the letter “turquoise services plus”, “for the most important shipments requiring traceability, such as sending a check or small goods”. It will be distributed in 2 days and will cost a minimum of 2.95 euros. These letters will allow “sending documents as small objects” and will embark “smart data”specifies the press release from La Poste, without explaining how it works.
