La Trois invites you to the museum: photographs and sculptures at MACS

2023-10-25 19:35:03

The German photographer Jochen Lempert presents its first exhibition in a Belgian museum: Honeyguides and Milk Teeth. It will occupy four rooms of the MACS with delicate shots of nature and a minimalist approach in the means deployed. He uses, in fact, a 35 mm film reflex camera with normal focal length and makes his own black and white prints. He also displays his creations without frames, on white walls, forming sets of images that invite you to explore the correspondences between shapes, tones and subjects.

Biologist by training, Jochen Lempert brings careful observation of the animal, plant, or human world, and highlights an acute sensitivity for tiny details, such as traces of tiny frogs, the flight of fireflies or the blowing of the wind in dead leaves.
