This official launch ceremony of the 2023 regional reforestation campaign took place this Saturday, August 5, 2023 in Labé, Tanouya sector of the Safatou 1 district under the theme: “Protect and plant more”.
During this launch, Dr. Karim Samoura, Secretary General of the Ministry of the Environment and Sustainable Development challenged everyone on the importance of nature conservation.
“At a time when the impacts of climate change are increasingly felt, we are all challenged to review our harmful practices which degrade our environment and which reduce our resources essential to our existence. To reverse this trend, we must promote actions that contribute to the restoration of the vegetation cover, including massive reforestation is the defense of our forests”, underlined the Secretary General.
For his part, the director of the cabinet of the governor of the Labé region, Elhadj Aboubacar Tounkara believes that the beneficiary populations will take care of these plants. “I remain convinced that the plants that will be planted and those that are already planted are and will be protected by the people of Labé. Moreover, it is our common duty”.
