The documentary series Lac-Mégantic – this is not an accident won the Audience Award at the Canadian International Documentary Festival, Hot Docs, in Toronto on Sunday.
The series has also broken a record for the highest number of views on the Vrai platform since it was posted there on May 2.
Directed by Philippe Falardeau and produced by Trio Orange, in collaboration with Quebecor Content, the four one-hour episodes rekindle strong emotions and lift the veil on several issues surrounding the rail tragedy of July 6, 2013.

The original series of True won the favor of the public, Sunday, among the twenty finalists in its category.
Hot Docs, which marked its 30th anniversary this year, screened 214 films from 72 countries during its 11-day festival in Toronto.
