The new Lada e-Niva SUV began to be tested in Tolyatti
According to the latest news from the automotive capital of Russia, testing of an electrified modification of the domestic SUV, the Lada e-Niva, has begun in Tolyatti. As it became known, this electric car is maximally unified with its gasoline prototype, which will undergo only minor modifications. This approach is due to the inexpediency of pouring large investments into the modernization of the outdated platform of the model.
Instead of a fuel tank, the e-Niva will have a battery. The electric motor and the necessary electronic “stuffing” will be located in the engine compartment. At the same time, the proven mechanical all-wheel drive system will remain, which distinguishes the Niva from its competitors. The components for the electric SUV will be supplied by the domestic enterprise Itelma. According to the head of AvtoVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, a prototype e-Niva is already being tested at the Togliatti test site. He confirmed that the design of the electric car is as close as possible to the production Niva. This will make it the most localized Russian car.

The new generation Chinese crossover Geely Atlas is presented on the Russian car market.
