An explosion took place on the public highway in Laeken, during the night from Thursday to Friday, according to the Brussels public prosecutor’s office. The explosion caused no injuries, but significant material damage was noted. An investigation is open.

The explosion took place around 3:00 a.m. in rue Hubert Stiernet in Laeken. “It broke several windows of homes and several cars were damaged, but there were no injuries,” explained the prosecution. “A judicial exclusion perimeter has been set up to protect any trace useful to the investigation.”

The prosecution ordered the first duties, namely the hearing of witnesses, the intervention of the laboratory of the federal judicial police (PJF) and the appointment of a fire expert.

“The investigation is continuing actively and in the interest of it, the prosecution will not make any further comments on this matter,” he further indicated.
