The LAN JDL is an event created for video game players and created by game animators that takes place every year. This year’s edition will take place from September 2 to 4 at the St-Apollinaire Multifunctional Center located near Highway 20.

The LAN JDL has decided to create a Stream-O-Thon to help the cause of suicide prevention. This decision was made in order to give back to the community that enabled the creation of the JDL LAN and to help combat a real problem that is everywhere. During the 2021 edition, the Stream-O-Thon raised more than $73,500 for the same cause. All proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Virtual Guardians Foundation (FGV).

For us, it was also important to inculcate healthy living and playing habits in our participants. Which is possible through our partnership with the Virtual Guardians Foundation.» Jeoffroy Noel, one of the administrators of LAN JDL.

Much like the good old telethons, the Stream-O-Thon is a filmed event that aims to raise funds for an organization. However, as its name suggests, the Stream-O-Thon is streamed over the internet via the Twitch streaming platform. So you can participate in the event from the comfort of your living room and give generously to the Virtual Guardians Foundation while enjoying a Twitch broadcast.
