Laos has more than 20,000 cases of Dengue Fever.

Vientiane, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) — Thursday (Aug. 25) Center for Health Information and Education. under the Ministry of Health of Laos It reported 224 more dengue cases, bringing the total to 20,135, including 17 deaths.

The capital city of Vientiane detected the highest number of dengue cases at 10,190, followed by Luang Namtha at 2,594 and Attapeu Province at 1,261. The total number of dengue cases in Laos exceeded 20,000 in the first eight months of this year.

Of the 17 deaths from dengue fever, five were in Vientiane, four in Attapeu Province, three in Salawan, two in Luang Namtha and Xieng Khouang, and one in Udomxay.

The ministry urged people to eliminate mosquito breeding sites around their homes and workplaces. to help control the outbreak of dengue fever People who fall ill should suspect that dengue fever may be the cause and go to the hospital for a blood test.

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) reveals that dengue fever is one of the fastest-growing infections, with Thailand, Laos, the Philippines and Singapore reporting large numbers of cases. The number of cases in the western Pacific region has more than doubled in the past 10 years.
