“Large Landslides Devastate Northwest Pakistan, Burying Vehicles and Trapping People”

Pakistan | Heavy landslides in northwest Pakistan. More than 20 trucks were buried under the ground yesterday in the landslide through the Khyber Pass. The preliminary information is that the landslide was caused by lightning.

According to the reports, two people have died in the incident. Meanwhile, many people are trapped under the ground.

The landslide occurred near the Torkham border. Khyber District Deputy Commissioner Abdul Nasir Khan said that around 25 containers are underground. Nasir Khan also stated that the authorities are trying to recover the bodies.

He said that three people who were injured in the landslide have been admitted to the hospital. The death toll is likely to rise, he added.
