The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) confirmed that Latam Brasil broke a new record with a 41% share in the Brazilian domestic market during March 2024.

Just as had happened in February, the company achieved its best domestic market share in the last 11 years last month. In July 2013, Latam had reached a 41.6% share. The result reflects how Latam works to expand Brazilians’ access to aviation, being, since 2021, the fastest growing airline in Brazil in domestic and international flights.

More efficient and competitive, Latam currently operates the largest airline network in its history in Brazil, with flights to more than 50 airports across the country. In practice, it has led Brazilian aviation since 2021 (in RPK), according to ANAC. The index calculated by ANAC considers the number of passengers per kilometer transported by the company over the volume of passengers per kilometer transported by all airlines operating in the country.

In 2023 alone, when it transported 33 million domestic passengers in Brazil, Latam saw its operations grow by 8% throughout the national territory, compared to 2022. The advance has a reason: in the last year, 15 of the 17 new planes received directly from the factory by the Latam group were directed to its Brazilian operation.

In 2024, Latam expects the arrival of more planes and a new growth of 7% to 9% in its domestic operations in Brazil, compared to 2023. In practice, more than 3 million of the company’s seats will be added in the country in the year .

In international operations, Latam also led the Brazilian market in March 2024, with a 24% share, according to ANAC. Currently, it is the airline that transports the most tourists to Brazil, with its own flights from 90 airports abroad. In November 2023, it is worth remembering, Latam and Embratur signed a technical cooperation agreement to promote the country internationally. Now, the company is preparing to inaugurate the Brasília – Santiago route, scheduled to begin on June 1st of this year.
