Latam explained why it suspended services on the Bogotá Valledupar route

On December 7th it became known that Latam Airlines Colombia will suspend its route ValleduparBogotaand will stop operating as of January 16, 2023, that is, its last flight will be on the 15th of that month.

According to the airline, the decision was made following large losses were evidenced.. “During the last months the aforementioned route has generated losses of approximately -65% in its income, despite the effort that the airline has made since its beginning of operation to stimulate it.”

Latam explained that these losses were due to the increase in the cost of fuel, devaluation and inflation. “The average occupancy factors of this route is 64% that do not allow them to continue profitably with the same”.

In the statement, the airline stated that passengers who have purchased tickets for following 1January 5th they will refund 100% of the money.
