An Israeli airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza has killed at least 12 people, according to a spokesperson for Al Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

Ten of the dead were women and children, the spokesman and a hospital doctor said. The other two victims were elderly men.

Biden spoke with Netanyahu — The US president spoke with Israel’s prime minister in a call about the “ongoing hostage negotiations” and the “situation in Rafah.” All eyes are on Rafah, near the border with Egypt, where more than a million Palestinian refugees are sheltering in a huge tent city.

Egypt builds buffer zone Egypt is building a kilometer-wide buffer zone and wall along its border with Gaza, satellite images show. The images, taken over the past five days, show that a significant section of Egyptian territory between a road and the Gaza border has been leveled.

Panic in Rafah Rajaa Musleh, Gaza representative for the nonprofit MedGlobal, currently based in Rafah, said health workers who are still alive “may still be breathing, but we are dying inside.” The city is the last remaining refuge in Gaza for displaced Palestinians, and panic is rising as many decide whether to stay or leave ahead of a planned Israeli offensive.

UN condemns attack on Nasser hospital António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, condemned the Israeli military attack on the Khan Younis hospital. The IDF raided the Gaza hospital on Thursday and said it detained several suspects.

Attacks in Lebanon — Israel says it killed a top Hezbollah commander and several operatives in an airstrike in Lebanon. Hezbollah said several of its fighters had been killed, but did not specify how, where and when. Israel has continued its attacks in Lebanon throughout Thursday against what it called “Hezbollah terrorist targets.”
