General Pedro SánchezJoint Commander of Special Operations of the Military Forces, confirmed the finding of new evidence of survival in the search for the indigenous children lost in the jungle.
“We found recent traces, with the work of our indigenous communities and our commandos. We think we are very close,” he stated.
The general explained that there is the highest probability is that indigenous minors (from the Nukak community)who would have survived the plane crash on May 1, have changed course to the north and east, so the indications of the Military Forces They say they would go to the Apaporis river.

We have found evidence and we have corroborated it with the GPS, such as when we found the two diapers, one used, that we passed about 100 meters from them. He added that minors continue to move in such an extensive region (the Guaviare jungle), out of survival instinctsince it is an area with the presence of dangerous animals, such as snakes and predators.
“Our men have traveled 1,250 kilometers, which is like going from Bogotá to Quito and returning to Pasto. Our men do not get tired, not in their hearts and not in their souls,” he said.
General Sánchez also ruled out that the minors are in the hands of an illegal armed group that has a presence in the area.
“The evidence tells us that they are very surely not with some armed narcocriminal group, but there is a presence of these in the area,” he said.
He reported that 2.8 kilometers from where the accident occurred, an abandoned camp was found a year and a half ago where they were doing work to attack the most vulnerable population. “There the FARC dissidence offended under the command of alias Iván Mordisco”, added the Joint Commander of Special Operations of the Colombian Military Forces.
