Latvia’s New Health Minister, Hossam Abu Merhi, Takes Charge in Three-Party Coalition Government

Lebanese-born Hossam Abu Merhi was appointed Minister of Health in the new three-party coalition government in Latvia headed by Prime Minister-designate Evict Selina of the centrist liberal New Unity Party.

The new government includes seven ministers in addition to its president. The centrist Greens-Farmers alliance will hold four ministerial positions, while the progressive social democrats will hold three positions in government.
