Visas, accommodation, mobility, cultural and tourist activities on the sidelines of BM-FMI annual meetings
In order to facilitate the logistics of the participants and to inform them about the host country, Morocco has chosen to launch a website. A digital showcase that highlights the development momentum initiated in the Kingdom as well as its tourist attractiveness.
The annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are fast approaching. About 48 days separate us from this long-awaited meeting of the international economic sphere. The great figures of international finance, ministers and governors of central banks from 189 member countries of these institutions as well as representatives of the private sector, NGOs and academia will travel to Marrakech to discuss from October 9 to 15 around the crucial questions about global economic development.
The choice of Morocco for the organization of this event indeed confirms the reputation of the Kingdom as a privileged destination for the organization of major international conferences as well as the influence of the ocher city as a city open to the world. The opportunity is also to strengthen the attractiveness of the Kingdom as well as to promote its image of a stable and tolerant, open and dynamic country, rich in its intangible heritage, its secular history, its culture, its gastronomy. The platform available in English, French and Arabic provides information on obtaining a visa in Morocco for accredited participants. The idea being to facilitate their entry into the Kingdom through the online visa application platform “https://acces-maroc.ma“. “The participants will not need to go to the Moroccan consular services, neither to file their application, nor to withdraw their electronic visa”, we learn in this sense. And to specify that “participants who have submitted an application will receive their electronic visa directly via the website and by e-mail”. It should be noted that all participants subject to this formality must submit their request immediately after receiving their accreditation for the 2023 annual meetings, at the latest two weeks before the start of the event. Similarly, the site set up by the Kingdom on the occasion of the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF refers to an online accommodation platform offering participants who are not part of the official delegations hotels of all categories in near the event site. An online chauffeur-driven vehicle rental service is also available for official delegations to facilitate their travel throughout the event. For accredited media, the platform defines the procedures to follow for the temporary admission of their audiovisual material as well as for their filming in Morocco.
And in order to combine business with pleasure, a cultural and tourist program is available on the platform allowing participants to discover the rich heritage of the ocher city and this on the sidelines of the assemblies.
