Project leaders in the field of the environment and sustainable development have until April 30 to apply for the call for projects relating to the support program for innovation in clean technologies and green employment. This initiative is launched by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and UNIDO. It is part of the global “Global Cleantech Innovation Program (GCIP)” implemented by UNIDO in fifteen other countries.

Candidates will benefit from a pre-acceleration with the support of national experts at the level of 4 regional incubators. This first phase will be crowned by the selection of the projects which will be qualified for the final competition of the program. In the second phase, an acceleration program will be set up to allow the finalists of the program to refine their projects. “After the obligatory acceleration phase, the finalists will be invited to present their projects in front of a jury of experts. The winners of the 5 categories will benefit from a financial subsidy to develop their projects”, explain the leaders of this initiative.

The purpose of this annual competition and program is to offer support and networking opportunities to 30 finalist projects and to award post-competition technical and financial support to the 5 most innovative start-ups with a high development potential. Thus, the proposed projects must relate to technological innovations in the recovery of waste, the rational use of water, renewable energies, energy efficiency and green buildings. It should be noted that the “Clantech Morocco Prize” allows the selected winners to benefit from a financial prize to cover their equipment and service expenses as part of the development of their innovations.

The price per category is 150,000 DH. The price reserved for women entrepreneurs is 150,000 DH. Similarly, a special distinction “Grand Prix GCIP Morocco” will be awarded to the best project among the winners of the 5 categories (an additional bonus of 50,000 DH). A link to complete the application file is made available to participants until April 30 (Cleantech Morocco 2023 Competition).
