Launching a campaign to provide reproductive health services for free in 22 governorates during September

The Ministry of Health and Population is launching a free service and awareness campaign to provide services and means for family planning and reproductive health, in 22 governorates nationwide, including remote and deprived areas, from 4 to 22 September.

This comes within the framework of the national project for the development of the Egyptian family, launched by the President of the Republic, to support and develop the Egyptian family at the health and economic level and to ensure the improvement of the quality of family life.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the campaign provides quality family planning and reproductive health services in fixed units and mobile clinics, which provide service in remote areas, in addition to villages and areas where the President’s “Dignified Life” initiative is implemented. To raise the rates of use of family planning methods, and to preserve the health of the mother and child.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the campaign provides free family planning services and means, supports women, and raises health awareness for the Egyptian family. From 4 to 15 September.

He pointed out that the campaign will be launched in Port Said governorate, from September 11 to 15, and the campaign will be launched in the governorates of Sohag and Luxor in two phases, the first during the period from 4 to 8 September, and the second period from 18 to 22 of the same month.

Abdel Ghaffar added that the campaign will be implemented from September 11 to 22 in the governorates of Damietta, Assiut, Minya, Fayoum, Qena, Dakahlia, Sharkia, Suez, Giza, Qalyubia, Aswan, Beni Suef, Menoufia, and Kafr El Sheikh, stressing that it will be implemented. Providing a distinguished group of safe and effective family planning methods to raise the rates of using methods of all kinds.

For his part, Dr. Hossam Abbas, head of the Population and Family Planning Sector, indicated that the campaign is working to raise health awareness of the impact of family planning on the health of the mother, child and society, noting that exhibitions for women’s clubs will be held during the campaign to develop their own capabilities and provide them with more experiences. Organizing exhibitions of handicrafts, leather products, sewing and knitting that the beneficiaries produce after their training through women’s club officials, believing in the importance of supporting women’s development and raising the economic level of Egyptian families, as part of the state’s efforts to improve demographic characteristics.
