The Bernese reggae group “Lauwarm” was “disinvited”, according to its own words, from a performance scheduled for Saturday evening in Bern. The interruption of a concert by this white group wearing dreadlocks and African clothes made waves just over three weeks ago.

Saturday night’s performance is “cancelled,” the band announced on Instagram. His name was effectively removed from the program of the Lorraine neighborhood fair in Bern.
Canceling is the best solution to calm the situation, said a spokesperson for the organizing committee on the Tamedia portals. He, however, did not comment on whether there had been boycott calls or threats.
On July 18, the interruption of a concert by this reggae group singing in Bernese dialect in a restaurant in the Lorraine district of Bern made international headlines.
That evening, Lauwarm replaced another group. Several spectators then claimed to feel “uncomfortable” in front of the young Bernese musicians playing reggae and wearing, for one, dreadlocks. They denounced a “cultural appropriation”. The people in charge of the room had then decided to interrupt the concert.
