LD 920: Decathlon’s revolutionary electric bike

2023-10-18 05:15:30

At the pedal level, the motor of this LD 920, designed by a Belgian startup, contains both electric assistance and gear change, which is automatic. The gears change by themselves, there is no longer a derailleur.

It is this bike which won one of the brand’s “innovation awards” last year. It is assembled in Lille, by the Decathlon bicycle assembly plant at B’Twin village. Called AML, for Atelier Mécanics Lille, this industrial site which assembles Decathlon’s high-end bicycles, had to increase skills and hire around twenty people for this LD 920. AML’s total workforce today is 200 people.
