leader surprised. Toyota is not even in the top three KXan 36 Daily News

JD Power, a US consumer satisfaction research company, made a list the most reliable cars. The most surprising thing is that in the first place is not the American and not the Japanese brands, but the Korean Kia.

So, according to the agency, there are 145 breakdowns per hundred cars. Buick is slightly behind – 147 repairs. The next two lines are again Koreans: Hyundai (148 breakdowns) and the premium sub-brand of Genesis (155). For those who care about Toyota, the brand is in fifth place on the list with a score of 158, followed by Lexus at 159.

In the first place at the end of the list is Range Rover – 284 breakdowns per hundred cars of the brand. Also, Ram (266), Volvo (256), Alfa Romeo (245) and Acura (244) do not shine with reliability.

JD Power noted that premium cars have less reliability than mass-market cars – 204 versus 190 breakdowns. There are two reasons for this: expensive models, as a rule, are equipped with a large number of electronics that fail, and an increase in the quality of cars that represent the mass segment.

Toyota Corolla was recognized as the most reliable model in the compact car segment, BMW 4 Series – in the class of premium compact cars, Mazda MX-5 Miata became the leader in reliability among compact sports cars.

The Hyundai Sonata became the embodiment of reliability in the mid-size segment, and the Chevrolet Impala in the large car segment.

Among crossovers and SUVs, Lexus NX, Buick Envision, Chevrolet Suburban, Lexus RX, Hyundai Santa Fe, Lexus US, Buick Encore, Kia Sorento, Porsche Cayenne are recognized as the most reliable.

Pickup segment leaders: Chevrolet Silverado HD, Toyota Tundra, Nissan Frontier.
